Ethan has been receiving counseling services 1 times per week in a group of three for 30 minutes. Ethan has been working to improve his ability to initiate and maintain appropriate conversations with peers without prompting, while maintaining appropriate social skills (such as eye contact, listening, body facing the speaker). Over the course of the year, Ethan has made a lot of progress in terms of counseling and has successfully met his counseling goals, such as knowing when and when not to say something that’s inappropriate or out of context to a peer. Ethan gets along well with his peers, is compliant, and is able to remain on task and ignore distractions; with prompt given in certain circumstances. At this time, it is recommended that Ethan be declassified from counseling services at school, as he no longer presents with any behavioral concerns, and has successfully met all of his counseling goals. Ethan can benefit from spending more time in the classroom to continue to increase his academic skills. STUDENT STRENGTHS: Ethan is very engaged while in the counseling session, he participate and interacts well with his peers. As per Teacher report, Ethan’s strengths are he is able to “articulate his ideas and feelings.” SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF THE STUDENT, INCLUDING CONSIDERATION OF STUDENT NEEDS THAT ARE OF CONCERN TO THE PARENT: Ethan appears to be unfocused and times and requires re-direction. He has a great deal of energy and can be a very blunt, honest individual who at times has no filter. He doesn’t mean any harm, but he is always brutally honest with peers.
